POLICIES AND REGULATIONS

1. Registration:

1.1​ All new students will be required to fill out a registration form and pay a

non-refundable fee of $10.00, which will be added to the first invoice.

1.2​ Upon registration you give permission for ​Spark! School of Performing Arts​ to use images and/or videos of your child for marketing purposes or on newsletters/social media, unless you notify us in writing that you do not wish us to do this.

1.3​ Upon registration you agree to abide by the terms and conditions stated herein, without exception.

2. Payments:

2.1 Private Instruction:​ There are two available options for tuition payments

for private instruction:

●  Per month​ – by the beginning of the first ​scheduled​ lesson of the month;

●  Per term​ – by a specified date or by the beginning of the first ​scheduled​ lesson of the term.

Due date for payment will be clearly stated on the invoice.

2.2 Group classes:​ There are two available options for tuition payments for group classes:

●  Four (4) equal payments​ for Terms 1 and 2 and ​Two (2) equal payments​ for the Term 3. Please note these payments are approximately monthly;

●  Per term​ – by the beginning of the first class of the term (Term 1 and 2 ONLY).

Due date for payment will be clearly stated on the invoice.

2.3 Payment discounts per month:​ A 5% discount will be applied to monthly bills for students taking private music lessons in multiple instruments (if each instrument is taught separately in its own lesson), for multiple family members taking lessons, or for multiple services including group classes. This discount is applicable to a full month of lessons (four or five lessons) providing the previous month’s bill was paid by the due date and no credits for missed lessons are to be applied.

2.4 Payment discounts per term: A 10% discount will be applied for termly tuition payments for private music instruction.

Discounts for termly tuition payments for group classes range between 5-10%, depending on the class, which reflects a lower per class rate.

2.5 Trial classes:​ Please contact us if you wish to discuss the possibility of a trial group class for your child, before committing to a payment plan. These, where available, will only be offered during the first two weeks of a new term. Please note we do not offer full trial lessons for instrumental tuition. Instead we offer a short 10-15 minute assessment, upon availability.

2.6 Tuition payment options:​ Tuition payment options must be agreed on prior to beginning lessons for the term, and can only be changed at the beginning of the next term.

2.7 Timing of payments:​ Please note that payment for instrumental tuition is due by the beginning of the first ​scheduled ​lesson/class of the month/term. In the case of private instruction, if the student does not attend this lesson, payment is still due. Please use an alternative payment method if you cannot come into our studios to make payment.

2.8 Payment methods:

●  Cash​;

●  Cheque​ (payable to “Spark! School of Performing Arts”) – Please note cheques that are not drawn on Cayman National Bank or Butterfield Bank will not be accepted for late payments after the second week of the month, due to length of clearing times. Please use an alternate method of payment, if this applies;

●  Bank transfer/deposit​ through Cayman National Bank account #012-48724 or Butterfield Bank account #1361679590030. Please ensure student name/invoice number is used as a reference so we can allocate the correct payment to your account;

●  Credit/Debit Card ​in person or over the phone.

3. Fees, charges, and credits:

3.1​ ​Late pick up/early drop off fees:​ Students are asked to arrive on time and be picked up on time. ​Spark! School of Performing Arts​ accepts responsibility for students only within the agreed time period of lessons. If a student is not picked up within 15 minutes of the end of their lesson, a fee of $10.00 will be incurred. Likewise, if a student is dropped off sooner than 15 minutes before their lesson/class is scheduled, the $10.00 fee will also be applied.

3.2​ ​Damage to property or equipment:​ Students/parents will be charged for any damages to equipment, resources, and the premises by the student.

3.3​ ​Late payment fee – 7 days:​ If payment is not received within 7 days of the payment due date (by the ​beginning​ of the second weekly lesson of the month), a $25.00 late fee will be applied to next invoice.

3.4​ ​Late payment – 14 days:​ If payment is not received within 14 days of the payment due date (by the ​beginning​ of the third weekly lesson of the month), ​Spark! School of Performing Arts ​will discontinue lessons until outstanding balance is paid.

3.5 Difficulties with payments:​ We would encourage you to communicate with us as early as possible if you foresee any issues with payment. We reserve the right to waive fees and amend due dates under certain, exceptional, and genuine circumstances, however, this will not be done retrospectively without prior agreement.

3.6 Credits: Any credits given within a term must be used within that term and will not be carried over into another term within the academic year.

4. Missed Lessons and Rescheduling:

4.1 Notification of absence:​ Please let us know as soon as you can if you/your child is going to be absent from a lesson/group class. You can either call us on 946-0137 (leave a message if no answer) or email spark@sparkcayman.com.

4.2 Refunds/reschedules (private instruction monthly payment):​ Any private tuition lessons missed by the student without a minimum of 24-hour notification will not be refunded or rescheduled. If over 24-hours notice is given, then a credit will be added to your next month’s invoice.

4.3 Refunds/reschedules (private instruction termly payment):​ No makeup lessons or refunds will be offered for students missing lessons who have opted to pay upfront for the term. An exception may be made, and a rescheduled lesson offered, if we are informed of any known absence at the ​beginning of the term. Please communicate this before payment is made for the term.

4.4 Teacher absence:​Any lesson cancelled by the school/teacher will be rescheduled, given by a substitute teacher, or refunded/credited.

4.5 Group class absence:​ Absence from a group class will not be refunded for any reason.

4.6 Public holidays:​ We close for all public holidays – you will not be charged for any lesson/class that falls on a holiday. We will not offer make-up/rescheduled lessons in this circumstance.

4.7 Exceptional circumstances:​ Lessons/classes missed due to hurricanes or other extreme weather, acts of nature or any other exceptional circumstance that is out of the control of the school/teacher will not be rescheduled or refunded.

5. Discontinuing Lessons:

5.1 ​Should the student/parent choose to discontinue lessons, a written statement must be provided giving at least one-month notice, and full payment should be made for this final month before the end of the month.

5.2​ Spark! School of Performing Arts ​reserves the right to dismiss a student due to frequent absences, disciplinary concerns, and/or not complying with all policies and regulations. Threatening, intimidating or inappropriate behaviour towards students or members of our staff will not be tolerated and will result in immediate dismissal. Tuition will not be refunded.
